Integrated Product Authentication means Cost-Effective Brand Protection

Experience shows that the more authentication features you can use, on the product, the more secure that product is against counterfeiting. A “counterfeit-proof” label on the package only attests as to the integrity of the packaging, not the authenticity of its contents. If you are already using barcode data collection in your manufacturing operations, to identify your products during their manufacture, you are "pre-adapted" or "pre-positioned" for in-line, real-time authentication of your products as an integral part of their manufacture. You can readily add Product Authentication Features directly on your product, with no changes to your current production process, on the existing WIP identification labels.

For example, with a thermal transfer printer and die-cut, blank labels, your existing identification process can be adapted simply by:

  • Changing from your standard ink ribbon, to a Taggant-enhanced ink ribbon; or,
  • Changing from your standard label material to a Taggant-enhanced label material; or,
  • Both of the above, if needed.

If you are using preprinted labels from outside vendors, a slightly different procedure may be required. Contact us now for more information about the Integrated Product Authentication in this situation.

Polyonics’ Thermogard® labels already withstand the high temperatures and harsh chemicals used in your manufacturing processes. This same Thermogard® technology platform ensures that the ProductSentry™ (Taggant-enhanced) ribbons or label materials will do the same.

The barcode labels you use today are read with a scanner. The ProductSentry™ labels are also readable with a "secure" scanner which is matched exclusively to the taggants used in the ribbon and/or label material. The net result is that you are adding an additional data stream to your current data collection of WIP and process data. This is what we mean by "INTEGRATED PRODUCT AUTHENTICATION."
